Mirko Kehr

Mirko Kehr joined Convalt in November 2025 as a Senior Manager - Head of Innovation & Engineering post his career at Meyer Burger in Germany. Prior to Convalt Mirko gained 15 years industrial experience in the development of manufacturing equipment for the global photovoltaics industry. Mirko started his professional career as a development engineer for plasma deposition equipment at Roth & Rau in Germany. He then headed the product development of plasma coating and thermal treatment equipment at Meyer Burger Germany post the acquisition of Roth & Rau by Meyer Burger.

Mirko took on additional responsibility which included the development of equipment for the whole photovoltaic cell and module production chain. Before his current appointment with Convalt he headed the Innovation Team as well as the Global IP Team of Meyer Burger.

Mirko is a physicist by education and holds a PhD from Chemnitz University of Technology. While his academic field of work had been material science of metallic alloys and semiconductors, Mirko is interested in all kind of new technology including the development of solar technology for space and defense applications.
